Mercer County Animal Shelter is in desperate need of hard and soft dog food and soft cat food. All donations are appreciated.
The shelter is bursting at the seams with dogs. We need foster homes. Here are some benefits of having dogs in a foster home:
Saving a dog’s life and helping local shelters.
Preparing a dog for their forever home and increasing their chances of getting adopted.
Seeing a dog’s true personality and watching them grow and blossom.
Learning a lot about yourself and the dogs from fostering.
Enjoying the joy and pleasure of helping a pet in need.
Connecting with your community and other foster parents.
Offering a temporary companion for your own pets.

Notes: Ralph wandered onto a stranger’s property looking for somewhere, anywhere, that felt safe. Animal Control found this sweet boy tucked under some construction materials. Ralph is now safe at MCAS. He has been seen by a vet and is being treated for a skin infection, yeast, possible mange (although his skin scrape was negative), and parasites. He has a very positive prognosis, and with his medications, good food, soft bedding, and plenty of TLC, Ralph is expected to make a full recovery.
Ralph is friendly, leash-trained and seems to be kennel-trained. Despite everything he has been through, he still wants to trust, still wants affection, and still has so much love to give. Ralph went from a stray hiding under construction debris to a dog with a name, a safe place to sleep, a full belly, medical care, and an entire team cheering him on. We will be sharing updates as this handsome boy continues his recovery. We cannot wait to watch Ralph’s transformation both inside and out. This dog has been available for 17 days
If you are interested in Ralph phone 304-425-2838 for an appointment to meet him at Mercer County Animal Shelter. We are open Tuesday-Saturday: 12pm-6pm, .
